FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

1. What does a Podiatrist do?

Commonly referred to as foot doctors, Podiatrists are medical professionals that specialise in the treatment of the feet and lower limbs.

They are able to diagnose and treat injuries, biomechanical problems, growth-related issues in children, perform nail surgery and prescribe and manufacture customised orthotics are necessary.

2. Do I need a referral to book an appointment?

No, you don't need a referral to see a Podiatrist.

3. What is the treatment for ingrown toenails?

Treatment for an ingrown toenail will depend on the severity of the problem and any previous history of the condition. Often if left untreated, it can cause further pain and infection.

A minor surgical procedure can be performed to permanently correct the shape of the nail if ingrown toenails become a recurrent problem.

4. How long will it take for my orthotics to be made?

Orthotics are tailor-made devices unique to your foot type and shape. It can take between 7-10 days for us to receive your orthotics from our local labs. We will then arrange an appointment with you to fit in your new orthotics.
